NOVEMBER 2017

November 20th Instructor Development Tune-Up Course 1

Instructor Development courses are designed to provide instructors an opportunity to maintain their skills and obtain exposure to new skills and tactics for teaching firearms to professional students. The courses are held twice yearly and the topics and lead instructors change with every session.

The course begins with a classroom discussion on Nevada and Federal Law as it relates to the firearm instructor. The remainder of the course is conducted on the range with practical exercises and discussion.

This session is Tune-up 1. We begin the range with the Nevada PILB qualification course of fire as a warm up. We will review the techniques and tactics from the NRA Law Enforcement Skill Sheet during the initial range period. As the course progresses, students will be exposed to concepts including  movement, target assessment, and engagement in an active assailant scenario.  Students will design and direct exercises during the afternoon portion of the course.

Upon successful completion of this course, attendees will receive a certificate of completion.

Students must possess a valid Law Enforcement or Security Instructor rating at the time of the course. Admission may be granted on a case-by-case basis to CCW and instructors with non-professional certifications.

Students are required to bring their duty gear with a standard duty belt, retention holster (level 2 or higher), magazine pouches  and accessories.

This course will provide 8 hours of instructor level training for those requiring re-certification hours by the Nevada Private Investigators Licensing Board (PILB) or the National Rifle Association Law Enforcement Activities Division (LEAD).  Students completing the course will receive a course outline and certificate that can be presented for instructor recertification.

This course is held at the Clark County Shooting Park Education Center and Ranges. Cost is $175.00 per student.
